My brother Andy got married July 19. The wedding was an amazing celebration, and I will always look back on it and grin.
The girls were flower girls. (My aunt MADE those dresses, are they not AMAZING?) They walked serious and hunched together down the aisle to an orchestral version of Tiny Dancer. Not a flower petal left its' basket but they did great.
Andy and Meghann coreographed a dance for the reception to "Don't Stop Believing." They also rented a photo booth for wedding guests to get their pictures taken in for the guest book. The food was amazing. There were many great dance floor moments, reunions with old friends, and moments with the happy couple.
I couldn't be more excited to welcome Meghann into the fam. The best to you both. I love you!

We had our first soccer experience in the form of a week-long soccer camp this summer. Every morning we would walk to the soccer field, me pushing Avery and her pile of toys in the Burley and Jooge riding her bike alongside. After a few drills and water breaks, everyone put on a penny and ran hither and yon chasing the ball. She gave it her all and seemed to enjoy it, but didn't want to "do any more soccer" after it was over.
Avery was in Pee Wee Soccer for a day. I signed her up for a four session class thinking, "Why not? Let's encourage the soccer spirit for everyone in our house." I watched her weave through the cones and chase her ball. Pretty soon she turned to me with a look, a look that meant, "I'm going to start crying now." There was NO getting her back out there. Believe me I really tried.
It looks like for now I'm no soccer mom. Maybe next year.

Last weekend over the 4th of July we went camping at Silver Falls. A minimal drive, being mere steps away from beautiful forests and hiking, and a wooded and cozy campground, these are the reasons Silver Falls agrees with us. The fact that it was the 4th of July but no fireworks were present didn't matter much as we haven't really done that whole thing yet. Next year a big firework display is definitely in the cards!
Jooge dissected an owl pellet after a presentation from Ranger Dorothy about owls.
I worked hard at capturing some sweet shots of wildflowers. Yeah, I know, dew and everything!
My husband built several kick ass fires. I do believe he was wearing this outfit when he built one of them.
It rained Saturday morning. It didn't last but it made for a wet pancake breakfast.
We did three hikes total, the last one being the 3.2 mile hike around the Trail of Ten Falls. So beautiful! Even with a three year old on your shoulders! Seriously, when was the last time you stepped into such a gorgeous forest? I am getting high on nature just looking at this picture. (Hi, mom!)
Our tent will be our bedroom again for a week in August when we trek to beautiful Moran State Park on Orcas Island.
An aside: I've decided that "Smah's," as Avery calls them, are better with double the marshmallow. This was the first time I roasted marshmallows and didn't set them on fire.
